Starting this weekend, two weeks of free events to inspire, entertain and be part of Reading’s journey to net zero carbon. There are still a few spaces on Reading Hydro’s joint event with ReadingCAN if you’re keen to explore what more community energy might contribute. Or view the whole programme and chose other events that inspire you.
And apologies if our blog’s been a bit sparse for a while, there’s been a lot going on. A quick round-up of news:
Electricity generation has been pretty good for the past two months, although the start of the year was really challenging with frequent shutdowns due to high river flow.
The Reading Hydro board is missing Sally Waterman who stepped down as director and co-chair at the AGM. But we’re delighted that Juliet Hanfling, our People director, has become our new co-chair.
We’ve hosted an increasing number of site tours for adult and youth groups – from as far away as Norway! Over the summer there will be a programme of tours for Reading Hydro members.
